Birch to de Kock, 1 run, run out chance but there’s no direct hit at the non-striker’s end. Short of a length outside off, he taps it straight to point and is ambling across. 6.20pm No. 1 v No. 5 tonight. We’re coming to you from Supersport Park in Centurion. A win for Spartans will take them to the third spot, but they would’ve played a game more than any of the other sides below them. So in a way, they’re soon reaching a point of no-return. Of some concern for them will be the form of AB de Villiers. Coming into the season without having played any cricket for seven months – the IPL was his last outing – he’s managed a solitary half-century in five outings. Can he produce a big knock tonight? We’ll soon find out. Toss ain’t too far away.
