Manchester United fans have been calling for the club to draft in Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves when the summer window rolls around.
The Portugal international made a shock £15 million move to Wolves from Porto in 2017, excelling in their promotion-winning season in the Championship under Nuno Espirito Santo.
An absolute expert in long-range strikes and pinpoint passing, Neves has had no problems acclimatising to the Premier League this season and plenty of United supporters reckon he’d be perfect for them.
United have shown interest in the 21-year old, as have Manchester City and Juventus. But Wolves, who tied him down to a new five-year contract in the summer, will only settle for a massive fee.
According to Duncan Castles from The Times, Wolves and their Chinese owners will demand a Premier League record transfer if anyone tries to negotiate a deal for Neves – slapping a £110 million price tag on their star player.
Today, Neves scored his 10th goal in all competitions for Wolves when he found the net from the spot in the 3-1 away win over Everton – though he did cause concern amongst the Molineux outfit when he forced off with a knee injury.
Wolves will be praying that it’s not a major problem for Neves as he is crucial to their way of playing.
