West Ham have stepped up their attempts to sign Portugal international Andre Gomes
West Ham made an opening move for the Portugal international earlier in the week by tabling an £18million offer to Barca.
Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini has identified the Gomes as a priority signing this summer and the club acted fast to try and get a deal over the line before being locked into a bidding war with Everton.
The offer was rejected by the Spanish giants, who are holding out for a fee closer to the £30m mark.

Everton are now expected to make a move for the player, who turned out for them 29 times last season.
Gomes joined Barcelona from Valencia in July 2016 and has two years remaining on his contract at the Nou Camp.
