Reports in Portugal claim Mattia Perin failed a medical, so his €15m transfer from Juventus to Benfica could be cancelled or postponed.
The 26-year-old landed in Portugal last night and was all set to sign a five-year contract.
However, according to Portuguese paper Record, the medical tests were not reassuring and have put the entire move in doubt.
An update from the same source and A Bola suggested Perin could remain in Turin for treatment on his shoulder until November or December, when he could then begin his Benfica career.
The former Genoa goalkeeper has suffered from a series of injuries in his career, most notably rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in both knees – the right in April 2016 and left in January 2017.
He also had two operations on his right shoulder in June 2015 and April 2019.
