Bayern Munich have taken a funny swipe at Sadio Mané after he attempted to score with an overhead kick.
The ball was deflected into the path of the 26-year-old Senegalese winger in the first half, who tried to convert the ball into the back of the net with an acrobatic effort.
However, the Liverpool star’s overhead kick failed to test Manuel Neuer or even hit the target.
The German club’s English Twitter account saw the funny side of it, though, taking a dig at Mané with a reference to FIFA 19.
“Good job EA fixed those overhead kicks,” Bayern Munich tweeted.
Funnily enough, EA Sports’ French Twitter account responded to the tweet with a simple message: “You’re welcome.”
For anyone who is unfamiliar with the reference, overhead kicks are overpowered in FIFA 19. It’s that simple.
Liverpool’s first-leg Champions League clash with Bayern Munich ended in a 0-0 draw at Anfield.
While Reds fans will be disappointed that Jürgen Klopp’s men didn’t win after they failed to capitalise on some fantastic opportunities in the match, the Anfield faithful did create the perfect atmosphere ahead of kick-off.
Who will progress to the next stage of the Champions League out of Liverpool and Bayern Munich?
Let us know in the comments.
