Clark County officials identify 3 more measles exposure sites, rule out 2 suspected cases – KOMO News

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Clark County Health officials identified three new locations where the public may have been exposed to measles.

On Saturday, officials said the new sites include Maple Grove School in Battle Ground, River HomeLink in Battle Ground, and A Children’s Dentist in Battle Ground.

There have not been any more confirmed cases of measles.

On Friday, officials said there are 19 confirmed cases and seven suspected cases. The number of suspected cases has since dropped to five. Two cases were ruled out by lab results.

Most of the confirmed cases are in children ages 1 to 10. Three cases involve kids ages 11 to 18. There is one case in an adult between the age of 19 and 29.

Of the 19 cases, health officials say 16 of them were not immunized and three of them are not verified to have had the vaccine.

One person with a confirmed case has been hospitalized.

Clark County Public Health urges anyone who has been exposed to measles and who believes they have symptoms to call their health care provider before visiting a medical office. That way they can make a plan that avoids exposing others in a waiting room. People who believe they have symptoms of measles should not go directly to medical offices, urgent care centers or emergency departments without calling ahead, unless they are experiencing a medical emergency.
