LOWER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. – Kate Lohan, stepmother of actress Lindsay Lohan, is facing a slew of charges after police say she drunkenly attacked a bus driver in Lower Macungie Township.
It happened on Christmas Day. State police were called to a report of a fight between a bus driver and a passenger at the Bieber Bus Terminal on Hamilton Boulevard. Police say Lohan was drunk when she missed her bus stop in Hellertown and then started screaming at the driver, demanding the bus be stopped.
According to the report, Lohan then lunged at the driver, grabbing her coat and refusing to let go. The driver pushed Lohan off, but Lohan got back into the driver’s seat, pushing buttons and trying to drive the bus. A passenger had to physically remove her from the driver’s seat.
Officers arrested Lohan around 5 p.m.Tuesday and she was arraigned early Wednesday on charges including DUI in a commercial vehicle, disorderly conduct and harassment.
Lohan was released from jail after posting 10 percent of her $2,500 bail. She’s due back in court for a preliminary hearing Jan. 3.
Lohan, 36, lives in Boca Raton, Florida. It’s unclear exactly why she was in the Lehigh Valley, but she reportedly has family in the area.
Lohan’s stepdaughter, Lindsay, is no stranger to the law. She’s been arrested several times over the years on charges including drunk driving, reckless driving and shoplifting.
