Kostas Manolas felt Roma were “superior to Juventus in the second half” of their 1-0 defeat and shrugged off transfer rumours.
“We held the initiative in the second half and were always up there, but didn’t create many real chances,” the Greek international told Sky Sport Italia.
“The lads gave 100 per cent, we need to keep working and start winning games. We must learn to defend as a solid unit. Juve have this mentality and have been working with the same Coach for many years, so they are well-drilled.
“I thought we were superior to Juve in the second half, but we leave empty-handed.”
This weekend, the Giallorossi slipped to ninth place, on a par with Atalanta, behind Fiorentina, Sassuolo and Sampdoria.
“I’m a little worried by the table, as we are not where we should be, but I remain convinced Roma will finish in the top four.”
There are reports Manchester United scouts were in the stands to watch Manolas this evening.
“I am a Roma player, I have three years left on my contract and I want to continue doing well for Roma.”
