Mazzarri: 'Fixture list isn't fair'

Walter Mazzarri is not happy with the schedule for the final few Serie A rounds and warns Torino against underestimating Sassuolo.

It kicks off at 11.30 UK time (10.30 GMT), click here for a match preview.

The Granata are in the thick of the fight for European qualification and a win would keep them within three points of that Champions League spot.

Atalanta, Milan and Lazio won their games on Saturday, so Toro are playing catch-up already.

“I’ve thought for years that the final four or five rounds ought to be played simultaneously, as that would be the fair thing for all concerned, but I know there are TV rights and various other issues that mean it won’t happen,” said Mazzarri in his Press conference.

“We have always played in a certain way and we won’t change our approach depending on who we are up against. In the second half of the season, once we gained more confidence, we got some very good results against the bigger clubs.

“Having said that, the worst thing we could do would be to think Sassuolo are somehow easy pickings. We must have the same attitude.

“On the one hand, Sassuolo are mid-table and have no target to aim for, but on the other it can allow them to play without pressure or stress. They are technically gifted and caused us a lot of problems earlier this season on the counter-attack.

“There was a period when people said Sassuolo were pushing for Europe, while they have Italy internationals like Stefano Sensi and Domenico Berardi, plus very impressive prospects such as Jeremie Boga.”

Iago Falque is back in the Torino squad after his injury and Mazzarri hinted the Spaniard could start, even if he “doesn’t have 90 minutes in his legs.”

Midfielder Tomas Rincon sits out a ban, with Vittorio Parigini and Koffi Djidji side-lined.

Torino squad for Sassuolo: Ichazo, Rosati, Sirigu; Aina, Ansaldi, Bremer, De Silvestri, Izzo, Moretti, Nkoulou, Singo; Baselli, Berenguer, Lukic, Meité; Belotti, Damascan, Falque, Millico, Zaza
