Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak admits it was “unusual that two centre-backs scored the goals” as they beat Juventus 2-0.
Jose Maria Gimenez and Diego Godin were on target on two set plays that weren’t cleared properly in the Champions League Round of 16, first leg.
“We knew it would be a tight game, a difficult game, and I think we did our job correctly. We had more chances to score, so I think we can be happy with this game,” said the goalkeeper.
“It’s good for us, but it’s not done yet, there are another 90 minutes of work in Turin, we need to stay calm and prepare well.
“It was a bit funny that two centre-backs scored the goals, as that is unusual, but the important thing is that we won. I congratulated them for their goals, they deserve it.
“You don’t prepare a different way if Cristiano Ronaldo is playing. He is one of the best in history and scored a lot of goals, but you have to prepare the game against Juventus as a team. We are all happy to play big games and this one tonight was huge.”
