Maurizio Sarri has denied “contact” with Roma and insists he has “a contract with Chelsea for next season.”
The tactician earned a reprieve with this evening’s 3-0 victory over Malmo, which sent Chelsea through to the Europa League Round of 16.
He spoke to BT Sport after the match and was asked if there was truth in the Italian reports he was approached to take over at Roma.
“Of course not, because I have a contract with Chelsea for next season, so it’s impossible to have another contact.
“I read something in an Italian paper about a dinner with Franco Baldini, but I think Franco is in South Africa at the moment, so it would be quite difficult to have dinner with him…”
